Chambray Juba Shorts #parissewsocial

Hey everyone, are you looking forward to summer as much as I am? We're having some crazy busy last weeks of the schoolyear, but it's fun! The weather is acting crazy too, we had fall like stormy days in the first half of this week and there's tropical weather predicted coming next Friday. In anticipation of this warmer weather I sewed up the Juba Shorts, a pattern by Imagine Gnats, purchased with the gift certificate Rachael kindly donated to our #parissewsocial goodie bag.

This pattern is an easy sew. It's a plain basic short that works very nicely as a canvas to add your own style. Think pockets, different hemming methods, maybe belt loops or for a really comfy lounge pair a ribbed knit waistband. I made a size medium and kept it quite similar to the original pattern except for the hemming part. Instead of a normal hem on the inside I folded it up to the outside of the shorts. Oh and let's not forget, this pattern also contains a men's version of the shorts. So I might be making Mr. Rascal a pair too.

Chambray

The chambray I used also came from Imagine Gnats as part of the great give away I won a while back over at Naptime Creations. It's a really nice light weight indigo by Robert Kaufman with tiny dots of red, yellow, green and blue in it.

ChambrayAnd to top this post off, the month of June is also Shorts on the line month, so I'll be entering these over in the Kollabora pool. And you, are you sewing along?

  1. I love these! Robert Kaufmann Chambray and some super cute shorts? Can't get much better than this. Lucky for you that I wouldn't fit in a size M or I'd have to steal them from you ;)
