The perfect autumn lounge wear, a Jasper sweater dress ( Paprika Patterns design)

Well, I've just got to share, I've sewn the most comfy garment ever! And it's all thanks to the Sew long Summer series where I won the Jasper sweater/dress pattern by Paprika Patterns.
The Jasper is a sweater (or dress) with a hood or collar option, welt pockets and princess seams.

I made the dress version with a collar in a size 4. The fabric is a summer sweater jersey I ordered at Joyfits, it's soft, not to bulky and with just a little stretch, so perfect for this project.
The fit is quite good, I didn't even add length to the dress (that's a first!), but in a next project I think I will alter the sleeves and make them more narrow.

In this pattern is a sewing "first" for me. I kind of tiptoed around the welt pockets till now, convinced sewing these would be very time consuming. Boy was I wrong! The sewing went pretty smoothly and it was done in no-time.

Before I started I was indecisive whether to sew the sweater or the dress, but I'm glad I chose the dress. Perfect for cocooning indoors and still fun to wear outside.
The dress has a sporty look, but maybe that's just because I pair all my outfits with sneakers.



Well, I'm off, putting my new dress through the cycling test. As a Dutch mom, if I can't ride my bike in it, it won't get much use.
