Project run and play sew along, put me in the zoo

Yay, season 9 of project run & play is here!
First week's theme is put me in the zoo, making an outfit inspired by your favorite animal.
I choose the part of the zoo I like the most; the aquarium. Mr. Rascal and I have literally met under water. Since the boys we have given up on scuba diving but still love the underwaterworld. Here's one of our own pictures for inspiration. Ooh barracuda!

I decided to get a head start on my summer sewing, the boys are in desperate need of shorts and t-shirts.
The shorts are based on the basic kid pants (pattern Made). I found the fabric at ikea (it is actually a table runner).

For the shirt I used the recess raglan pattern. I recycled one of our old liveaboard t-shirts and matched it with a navy blue knit and white sleeves.

And we had some photoshoot fun with my snorkel gear.

This is my plunge into season 9, see you next week for the second challenge!
