Our car wallet has a permanent home in my purse and it's just the perfect entertainment for those moments the rascals get a little bored. Instant fun and it just takes up a small amount of space. (Although space isn't really an issue, my purse is bigger on the inside. Ahum, excuse my geekery, I'm a sucker for dr. Who)

I used a flannel with a fun vehicle print for the pockets and a blue woven (sort of canvas) for the wallet. The wallet closes with velcro and I added two cars on the front with flock foil.
I really enjoy making birthday gifts, it's fun to give something more personal. Do you have a "go to"homemade gift? I'm always in for some new ideas!

DeleteGeweldig! Mijn zoon zou dit fantastisch vinden. Wil je misschien de afmetingen van de etui en van de lap flanel willen verklappen? š dan ga ik het ook proberen.
ReplyDeleteHoi Martine, ik ben helaas vergeten de precieze afmetingen op te schrijven. Ik was eigenlijk al doende de maten aan het bijstellen. Maar bij benadering zal de stof van de etui ongeveer zo'n 30 cm x 27,5 cm zijn geweest (2x knippen) en die van het flanel 20 cm x 48 cm. Dit is inclusief 1 cm naadwaarde. Er zijn ook wel goede tutorials zoals deze : http://crazylittleprojects.com/2012/12/kids-car-carrier-tutorial.html. Die heeft wel iets ruimere afmetingen.
