Parisian Top review, a pattern by Go To Patterns

A couple of weeks ago I found a nice surprise in my mailbox, I'm selected as a Go To Patterns brand ambassador (affiliate link). I'm really excited about this because all the Go To Patterns I made so far are a big hit and I love to try more. So what can you expect here? A monthly pattern show and tell, sewn by me, starting with the Parisian Top by Andrea Pannell (affiliate link)it's Selfish Sewing Week after all!

Before I started I read the pattern and noticed this was going to be a nice, easy sew. The Parisian Top has no hidden difficulties, it's a straightforward sew accompanied by a clear tutorial with tips for sewing knits. The gathered sleeves and the collar give this pattern just that little bit extra, while wearing a nice comfy tee.

I decided to add a bit of a challenge and ordered some scuba fabric. I've never worked with scuba before and I  crossed my fingers hoping it wouldn't be to stiff to use for this top.
Sewing scuba was a breeze actually, it has stretch but isn't slippery and has a good recovery,  I had my top finished in no-time.

The pattern comes in a wide size range with a measurements table. After measuring I made a size S and lengthened the top with 5 cm. Perfect fit!

So tell me,  are you sewing along with the Selfish Sewing Week? What are you working on?

* I received this pattern for a review and blogpost. However all opinions are as always honest and my own.

  1. Mooi!

  2. Love it!

  3. Nope I am not. I keep loosing track of what is when. I thought last week was selfish sewing week. But I love your top. I saw scuba on the market here. Maybe I should get some...

    1. Thanks Annemiek, sewing scuba was really fun and surprisingly easy. I love the way those gathered sleeves really stand now because of the scuba knit.

  7. Hey, how fun. I'm a Go To Patters Ambassador as well. I chose the Recess Raglan as my first pattern. I made a Parisian Top last year and really like it. As you say: An easy, fast, but seriously cute sew!

  10. Looks really good in Scuba. Suits you. And is that piping I see round the collar?
