I started sewing this up, but the fabric turned out way to thick for this pattern with the gathered front and backparts and the result was an enormous skirt. So exit mustard coloured curtain. Well not really exit, it just went back on my recycle staple and I picked another curtain sample. That's the great thing about recycling, if you screw up, it's no big deal, it didn't cost you your perfectly good fabric.
Next choice was this silver-greyish fabric, a lot thinner then the first curtain and it worked perfect for this pattern. I added about 3 cm to the bottom and I sized up 1 size because I like my waistband a bit lower.
Stay tuned for some more great upcycles on Boomie's blog. You can join in the fun as well and show your own recycle sewing projects in the Flickr pool.
