Marsupilami boardshorts, animal print sew along

And now for something completely different..... I present you my marsupilami boardshorts!

Okay, maybe this needs a bit of explaing. We're hosting an animal print sew along over at our Dutch facebookgroup. Pienkel wrote an inspirational post last Monday and today we both present our take on the animal print theme. I must admit, this wasn't an easy theme for me. Somehow animal prints seem more suitable for girls clothing.
I was going over possible animal prints I could use and then suddenly it hit me, Marsupilami!  This is a fictional comic book animal by Andr√© Franquin and also the word we use at home for anything animal-like with spots.

The yellow fabric is a curtain from my upcycle stash and I added the black spots with fabric paint. The pattern is the free basic kid pants pattern by Made which I adjusted to shorts.

A fun pair of summer shorts. I'm anticipating on the fact the 3 days from now a year ago, we were having our first bbq of the year, seems crazy now with our current weather.
