Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon #londonsewsocial (Madeit Patterns)

I'm writing this post with the rascals playing in the background. Nope not my rascals, but the band the Young Rascals with the song Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon. What could be more appropriate while writing a blogpost about the groovedress by Madeit Patterns?

The making of this dress is quite similar to the song; the sewing part is easy and laidback and once you put it on, it's weekend! Time to chill, hang out, do a move or two. I love it!
Obviously I made one for me, but there's a kids/teen version of this pattern available as well, you really should go and check out the kids version by Ines from  la Folie , pure perfection!

I made a few minor adjustments to the pattern, lengthening it by 10 cm and taking in 2 cm at each side of the bodice for a more fitted look. Of course I didn't take the extra 10 cm into account when I ordered my fabric at JoyFits.  So I ended up cutting the pattern in two, making a seperate bodice and (there was no way around it) having to cut the bodice upside down. Luckily this print is quite forgiving. Ssssst don't tell...

* I received this pattern as a gift from our London Sew Social sponsors. However all opinions are as always honest and my own.

  1. Lol, glad your fabric has a print, otherwise we really would have been twinning, I made exactly the same changes! Looks great on you!
