Tropical summer sewing with the Girl Charlee palm tree jersey #londonsewsocial

Hey everyone, how's your summer coming along? We're still waiting for some decent summer weather. To get into the tropical mood I finally cut into the palm tree jersey, kindly donated to me by Girl Charlee as part of the londonsewsocial sponsorship.

I knew I wanted to make a tanktop out of this fabric as soon as I spotted it on their website and thanks to the Upcraft Club I had the perfect pattern, the Zanzibar Shores Tanktop.
It's a match made in heaven, especially combined with the last pieces of NOSH's  ribbed knit I got at last years parissewsocial. I added a  tiny bit of colour to the palmtree jersey too with some dots of orange and green fabric paint.

I made the hooded version but the pattern also provides a normal neckline and (fun for the girls) a rounded hem. I'm sure I'll be making a summer staple of normal neckline tanks as well. Yep, I'm still convinced summer will turn up soon!
Oh and if you want your own copy of the Zanzibar Tank Top, it's on sale at the Upcraft Club right now!

* I received this fabric and pattern as a gift from our London Sew Social sponsors. However all opinions are as always honest and my own.
