A black Everyday skirt for me (pattern Liesl + Co).

I've got some more me sewing to share. This Easter weekend I managed to sew up the Everyday skirt by Liesl + Co. Again a black woven version that turned out wearable but can still be improved.

I measured and made myself a size L, but this turned out way too big so I increased my seam allowances all around and it's much better now. I do see a recurring theme here, since the Tortola top turned out too wide as well. I guess I'm just terrible at taking my own measurements. Note to self for the next pattern: just start with a size smaller.

I love the fit of this skirt, with a flat front and elastic at the back so no hassle with zippers. There's some gathering at the front and back panel (but not too much) and the side panels are flat, nice because I certainly don't need extra bulk at the hip area. But the best feature is probably the pockets. I love skirts with pockets, I'm wearing it with my Omni Tempore hoodie today, perfect for chasing after the boys in the playground.

Oh and please don't pay attention to all the loose cables in the picture, we're in the middle of remodeling our home
