I started sewing my new pattern stash with the Tortola top by Sisboom patterns, a woven top with simple clean lines, perfect for summer. But first I loaded up at Ikea on black Ditta fabric so I can make myself some muslins. Making muslins is something I never do when sewing for the rascals, they can wear anything and it always fits great. But I would really regret it if I would waste a lot of good fabric on a piece of clothing that doesn't fit.
I made the Tortola top in a size M and a 25" finished garment length. The sewing went smooth and I love the neat finish but I think I need to size down in width and make it a little longer. Nonetheless it's great and I've already worn it a couple of times.
I'm hanging in there and make sure there will be more "me "sewing, but I just can't get used to the huge pattern pieces and the amount of fabric that is needed for and adult garment. I guess children's clothing just remains my first love for now. And what's your favourite?
